Giant Chicken Spotted Near Sugar Creek In Missouri

Breaking News Footage

SUGAR CREEK, Missouri – As Sugar Creek’s annual Slavic Festival approaches, so does an even more menacing problem. Recently, hunters outside Sugar Creek spotted a giant chicken known as the Kurca as it walked through the brush.

The hunters caught the encounter on tape, and it’s clear the chicken is still alive and potentially growing stronger.

“The chicken was enormous,” said hunter Robert Huttey. “It just tore through the brush.”

The other hunter, Darryl Wells, was the one who initially spotted the chicken.

“I heard a rustling in the bushes and saw a creature back there,” said Wells. “To be honest, I actually thought it might have been Bigfoot.”

Sugar Creek will be holding the 2008 Sugar Creek Slavic Festival this weekend and organizers said they are already planning on extra security in the event of an attack by the Kurca.

“We’ve been tracking this story for a while,” said organizer Debbie Ray. “And we think that if the Kurca shows up, we’ll have enough security precautions in place that it won’t be a problem.”

The Slavic Fest happens the weekend of June 6 and 7. The festival has many of the factors that have proven to attract the chicken. Large amounts of people, chicken served, the “Chicken Dance,” and, most telling, polka music – which has been shown to have a symbolic meaning in the chicken's life.

Until then, organizers are left simply to wait and hope that things go by without a hitch.
