'Giant Chicken' Traced to Slavic Family
The origin of the large chicken terrorizing the United States has finally been revealed. A rural, destitute Slavic family has come forward claiming that they raised the chicken from an egg. Currently, the family is working to find and bring their chicken home.
The couple, who have refused to disclose their identities, say they found the chicken’s egg while searching for berries in the woods. They took the egg to their house, kept it warm and cared for it until it hatched.
“When the egg hatched, well, we felt he could be really special,” said the man. “We couldn’t have children of our own, so it was really our chance to experience the joy of life.”
The family treated the chicken as a child. Providing it food, water, music and plenty of love.
“We would play all sorts of games with him. His favorite was dancing to polka music, he always seemed drawn to it,” said the man.
But, as the chicken grew, the couple says they began experiencing more and more problems.
“The chicken would go out at night and he would stay out late,” said the woman. “Sometimes he would leave and not come home for days at a time.”
Soon after, it was discovered that the chicken had been terrorizing the local villagers.
“When people found out the chicken belonged to us, they came after him,” said the man. “That’s when he left.”
Historians believe the chicken is actually the ancient Kurca – a mythical monster from Slavic folklore.
“Many of the old texts tells stories of a giant chicken-like creature terrorizing the countryside,” said historian Tony LoPorto. “While there is nothing concrete on what caused this monster to rise from the ground, many speculate it’s a defender of chicken-kind.”
Whatever the reason, the chicken has blazed a trail of destruction across Europe and now, the United States.
“We started hearing reports that our chicken was in the United States,” said the woman. “So we sold what we could and made our way over to bring him back.”
The family adds that they are most concerned with stopping their chicken before it can cause any more damage.
“People don’t get him, I understand that,” said the man. “But we just want him home safely, we miss him.”
Until the chicken has been caught, authorities are urging people to use caution when attending any sort of festival that features both polka and chicken (grilled or otherwise).
