Salmonella Outbreak Related to Bird Bath Incident
SANDPOINT, Idaho – What started out as a day like any other quickly turned into one the people of Sandpoint, Idaho would never forget.
Early Thursday morning, news coverage reported a traffic jam along I-95, beginning at the Rec Bridge. It was there that passengers had abandoned their cars to catch a glimpse of what is quickly becoming an urban legend.
According to one witness, there appeared to be a giant chicken lathering up and bathing himself in Lake Pend Oreille. Another spectator gasped, “If I wouldn’t have seen it with my own eyes, I would never have believed it.”
Apparently, sometime in the early morning hours, the oversized bird began splashing wildly and clucking loudly, creating sound and water waves that awoke those that live nearby. No one knows what inspired the chicken to choose that specific lake as its tub, but the resulting fear of salmonella in the city’s main water supply has drowned the citizens of Sandpoint in panic.
Some refuse to believe any of these events actually happened, and continue to hydrate like before. But for those that do believe, for those that were there, it’s safe to say that their lives will be forever altered after this.
