Local Minor League Team Does A Dangerous Dance With Giant Chicken
DOYLESBURG, Pennsylvania – It started as a minor league promotion, but turned into complete pandemonium. The local minor league team, the Zephyrs, was holding a “Chicken Dance” night with the famed Dancing Chicken. And that’s where things started to go wrong.
During the third inning, the Dancing Chicken was breaking into the “Macarena” routine when a large and seemly real chicken attacked it from out of nowhere. Witnesses claim it came from the woods just outside of the stadium.
The roughly 3,000 in attendance were quick to rush to the Dancing Chicken’s aid, but soon fled in fear as the giant chicken began to lash out.
“I wasn’t going near that thing, it was pecking everything in sight,” said one witness, Darryl McDunaugh. “I have kids at home, I don’t need to be risking my life for the Dancing Chicken.”
All told, the chicken caused extensive damage to both the visitor’s dugout and the field.
“That chicken was kicking up all sorts of grass and dirt,” said onlooker Mary Steinem. “It looked like a tornado out there.
Local police who arrived on scene were unable to locate the giant chicken.
“It’s still out there,” said Sgt. Mark Reemersbaum. “Until we find it, well, I wouldn’t trust any chicken out there.”
