Local Cockfighting Ring Broken Up By Unlikely Source

BROOKLYN, New York – Call it the ultimate irony. A well-known cockfighting ring was broken up by what witnesses describe as “a giant, angry chicken.”

Cockfighting has long been outlawed in the United States, but throughout the country, the sport remains popular with gamblers and now mostly resides in dark basements and back alleys.

But it would seem that karma had caught up with this ring.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said one witness who asked not to be identified. “This giant chicken just came in here. There were feathers and beaks and coxcombs flying everywhere.”

Still worse, the chicken is said to have let loose the two featured combatants of the night.

“Just let [my roosters] go, that huge chicken just cost me a lot of money,” said Donnie Brava. “He better hope I don’t see him again.”

While this is the first sighting of the so-called “giant chicken” in the United States, there have been several sightings in Europe. These instances, however, appear unrelated.

No charges have been filed.
